The Project and the Role
January 8, 2008
The Project my group and I are doing is the Twitter Story. We are working with the story “Many Voices.” My role in the Twitter story is the artist. I will be drawing each of the chapters, made by all different schools. Twitter Story project is like Animal Farm, because we are working together to create something, like what the animals did in the story. They helped one another to create a project on the windmill, our project is on the twitter story.
Animal Farm Chapters 9 & 10
January 8, 2008
The last two chapters were about the long winters the animals had to go through because of their leader Napoleon. It was said that all animals were equal, but the animals were too stupid to see it wasn’t being followed by the dogs and the pigs. Since the windmill was destroyed, the animals task were to make it all over again. Even the old animals had to work, that included Boxer. He was one of the most hardest working animals ever. Even after he cracked his hoofs, he didn’t even stop to let it heal. Days past and most animals were skin and bones, the pigs and dogs were the only ones eating properly. As a result Boxer passed out one day on the hay. Squealer sent a van to get him to the vet. When the van came it wasn’t labeled an animal slaughterhouse. At the sight of this the animals chased the van to bring back Boxer, who was still conscious; instead it was too late. Squealer announced to them that Boxer was dead the next day and he was by his hospital bed. The animals believed this, but it was true that he was sent to a slaughter house. The box of the meat was sent to the farm which Napoleon used to sell and get grain, and the animals never knew about this. Many many years past, Boxer, snowball, and the old generation were forgotten. Only the elders like Clover and Benjamin remained alive and remembered it all. Though she never nor anyone retired by the retirement age, she worked hard. The new generation only listened to what they were told, none lived the way they had. The windmill was not used for what they had imagined many years ago, instead it was used to make more grain. When they were done with a windmill, they made more and more. Napoleon and the elder pig leaders held school for the puppies, and they were allowed to wear green bows. Napoleon was old and fat as well as the others. Then appeared one day that the pigs were standing on their two hind legs, and the sheep no longer said “four legs good, two legs bad,” they said “four legs good, two legs better.” It was appearing that the pigs wore human clothing, drank beer, smoked, slept in beds, and appeared no different from humans.
Animal Farm Chapters 7 & 8

Winter brought the farm storms, sleet, snow, and most of all despair. The farm had a grain shortage, so many animals grew hungry at night. Although Napoleon no longer attended the Sunday meetings, he had Squealer fill in for him. Squealer announced one day that Napoleon decided that all the hens will sell their eggs in order to make money to buy grain. The hens did not like that idea, because they thought selling eggs and letting humans eat it, was like murder. This made the hens think of a rebellious plan, as a result they were punished, and soon afterwards having to sell their eggs. That winter everything that went wrong was blamed on Snowball who was no longer on the farm, but was rumored to be coming at the farm to do some mischief; this made the animals very afraid. All the animals believed Napoleon when he said it, but Boxer felt at a little unsure. Then one day the Napoleon announced that Snowball sold himself to Frederick of Pinchfield Farm. He also announced that Snowball was no good from the start, and he worked with Mr. Jones. Not one of the animals believed his crazy made-up stories but they had to, otherwise they were punished. Later on they held a punishment session. At this all the animals had to confess all their wrongs that they might of done, then animals who did confess were brutally killed by the crazy dogs. Then at night as the animals lay in their beds, they started singing in sadness, “The Beast of England.” At the sound of this Napoleon sent Squealer to tell them it was abolished.
A few days after the persecution, the animals noticed the seven commandments no longer said “No animal should kill other animals” it read “No animal should kill other animals without cause.” The whole year animals just worked harder then they ever did to rebuilt the windmill with even thicker walls. They worked long hours, and sometimes with empty stomachs, for they were not feed properly by Napoleon. But it was no longer just Napoleon it had to be something spontaneous, like Leader Napoleon, Comrade Napoleon, etc. They followed all his orders and gave many compliments to make him happy. Later on Napoleon’s relations with the other farms was growing stronger, he was close to Fredrick but not Pilkington. Then Napoleon announced one day that he was going to trade their timbers to the Fredrick for a cheque. But it was soon after that they discovered Fredrick gave them a fake cheque. So he teamed up with the Pilkington and became enemies with Fredrick. As a result they planned a to kill Fredrick, and the next day the attack came. But it wasn’t as easy as the Battle of the Cowshed. This one was different it included 15 men, and half a dozen guns. At first when all the animals charged they were either shot died or wounded, the animals fled hiding. The men started burning the Napoleon Windmill they worked two years on. At the sight of this the animals fought back more. In the end they won, and Napoleon threw a celebration for the animals, but the animals didn’t feel so good, since most was injured or dead. Squealer announced that they would have to start the Windmill over again, and every animal felt more sorrow. Then the following day Squealer announced that Napoleon was sick, but a week later he looked fine. But then they noticed that the rule “No animal shall drink alcohol” was changed to “No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.”
Relation of Animal Farm and Ohio’s Penguins
January 2, 2008
The situation in the zoo relates to Animal Farm because of leadership and followers. The 6 new penguins are similar to the pigs on farm. The penguins run the zoo, and the pigs run the farm. Both are alike because they showed some sort of way to make the other animals think they are worthy enough to run the farm. Also the animals on the farm besides the pigs are like the 46 penguins. They both don’t know very much as a result they are followers. Before the leaders showed up the animals on the farm and the animals in the zoo didn’t do very much. So because of the leadership and the followers taken place in both farm and zoo they are alike.
The Coddled Flock of Penguins
January 2, 2008
The article is about how the lives of 46 coddled flock of penguins changed, after six new-comers moved in. The penguins of Ohio no longer eat or sleep normally, all they do is swin min circles till the practically pass out. Jane Tollini, thier keeper was the first to notice their change of behavior. For 18 years of her life at the zoo she noticed the lazy penguins were following the lead of the other penguins, and they swam more then they did in five years. Jane claims “We’ve lost complete control.”
