Hi Suzannah!
April 25, 2008
The poem “Become Free,” has been really inspiring to me. I felt this poem was one of hope, and that’s exactly what’s explained. It speaks about carelessly soaring through the sky, with the beautiful sounds of birds and wind. It shows the peace someone can have inside, by comparing it to the idea of flying. I would like to give kudos to Suzannah T, a 7th grader in The Lovett School.
Space Review

After reading issue #2 of Space I’ve seen many interesting pieces of art, poetry, music, and lots more. But the one entitled ‘Daughter Nature’ interested me the most. The painting is by Lindsea, who is a 11th grader in Hawaii. She’s an amazing artist and an amazing writer. She has several other pieces of art on Space, including ‘Waking Up‘ done with color pastel and photo shop and ‘What’?.
‘Daugther Nature’ is of a silhouette of a women with long stems and flowers as hair. This painting is very original and creative, and what I liked most was the background color she choose which is fiery red. The painting really speaks out making a sort of hopeful mood. It really comes to show how creative, artistic, and talented she is.
This Mask

When I put it on
I can’t be whoever I want
I can only hide all my thoughts
I’m in disguise and no one knows what’s under
Just thinking of taking it off makes me shudder
The fear it creeps up my spine
I’m attached to it with a line
A line so long, that goes where ever I go
So I can’t take this off until I’m told so
It tells me I have to keep it on
Or else I might reveal my true self
And people will see
What a coward I am
All I want is for them to accept me
