This Mask
April 20, 2008
When I put it on
I can’t be whoever I want
I can only hide all my thoughts
I’m in disguise and no one knows what’s under
Just thinking of taking it off makes me shudder
The fear it creeps up my spine
I’m attached to it with a line
A line so long, that goes where ever I go
So I can’t take this off until I’m told so
It tells me I have to keep it on
Or else I might reveal my true self
And people will see
What a coward I am
All I want is for them to accept me

It think that you are a very good poet. I like ths perticular poem because it’s somethig that I can relate to and I’m sure that everybody has done just to be acceted in this world. I hope that you continue to write and I’m looking foward to more of your poems and posts in the future.

I think that if you have to be someone your not to befriend people, then you shouldn’t be friends with them at all. If you keep it up, you might loose the sense of who you really are and regret ever trying to change yourself.

Adelle! This poem is so AWESOME! It describes the pain you feel about wearing a mask all the time, and how you cant wait to take it off. It’s amazing. You truly are an artist…
